Premiere Possibilities (A short story)

Amit was a young doctor working at a Municipal hospital in Mumbai. Working in a municipal hospital had given him a  very good experience in dealing with patients with all kinds of deseases. His hometown was a beautiful place a few hours drive from Mumbai visited by film makers for shootings. He decided to take a break of 10 days and left for his hometown. His mother stayed with his brother Mangesh's family. Amit reached his home and as he was welcomed in, Baban Mangesh's son came running to him "kaka you are required immediately, a film unit is in our village to shoot, an important actor is sick, I informed that you would be coming to help". Amit immediately rushed to the scene with Baban. He was led to the heroine of the film Antara who lay on a bed. Antara was in tears "With such great difficulty I managed to bag this role, if I am not able to perform I have told that I will be replaced by another actor". Amit checked Antara and informed her that he will be there the 3 days of shooting that she will be able to perform. Amit administered some injections to bring some immediate relief. Antara was able to sit after some time. Amit informed Antara that for a few hours she can do the shooting after which he will again attend to her. Antara went for the shooting and performed. When she came back it was late in the night but Amit was waiting. He told Antara to lie down. The effect of the medicine was wearing off, seeing this Amit pressed Antara's feet gently to relieve pain of the dance performance during the shooting. Antara was immpressed with Amit's dedication. For the 3 days the shooting took place Amit was available to ensure Antara was feeling good to shoot. On the last day after the packup Antara remembered to ask Amit where he was working and thanked him profusely. A few months later as Amit was in the OPD a woman in Burka was the next patient. When asked what her ailment was she gave Amit a paper that looked like a ticket. When Amit persisted with his question the lady opened her viel, it was Antara "This is a ticket of the premiere of the film I had come to shoot in your home town, without your help this would not have been possible, please do come".
