Simran's escape (a short story)

Aryan was staying as a paying guest with the Sharma's at Delhi. The house had few rooms on the ground floor and a single room with kitchen on the first floor. Aryan was given the first floor to stay. He was almost like a son for the Raj and Usha Sharma an old couple. Raj had retired as a professor from a college who always used to be busy with his academics. Usha was the worldly wise and decided almost everything in the house. It was almost as if Raj's only job was to bring in the salary and give it to Usha. The Sharma's had two daughter's Shalini and Simran who were recently married. Aryan had put in great efforts as an event manager during the wedding's ensuring all were happy.

Two months into the marriage Simran's started being haressed by her husband and in-laws who were very rich and influential people. Raj was always in touch secretly with Simran and knew what was going on. He helped her in many ways. There came a time when Simran's in-law's home which was like a jail became unbearable. She called her mother to see if she could fleefrom  the house. Aryan came to know of this and devised a plan. He told Usha about it and not to worry as he would execute it and ensure Simran is safe. Aryan sent Simran the plan secretly. While Simran's husband Vineet was leaving for office she told him that she wanted to go shopping to a market in Delhi. Vineet was suspicious but since the body guard Bahadur was there he agreed. simran had tried to please him in every way so he relented. Simran left with Bahadur for a shop belonging to Arayan's friend in a Delhi. Once she reached there, Bahadur followed her in. Aryan's friend in the shop recognised Simran. Looking around the shop Simran told Bahadur she wanted to go to the toilet. The shop owner arranged a chair for Bahadur to sit. There was a passage from the shop which let to the toilet. Simran entered the toilet and as instructed quitely opened another door which led to another passage taking her to the road. Aryan was waiting on his motor cycle there for her. Simran covering her face quickly got on to the pillion seat and they both sped away. Aryan rode at a good speed to Chandigarh, Simran's grandfather's place. Bahadur was suspicious when Simran did not come out of the toilet for sometime. He raised an alarm and demanded to know where Simran was. Simran was in the mean time well on her way to her grand father's place. On reaching there she first called Usha her mother. The plan was successful!
