My friend Kanan after completing his PhD in Chemical engineering, joined L&T at Baroda. He was told to stay at the Trainee engineers hostel till some other accomodation could be arranged for him. A trainee engineer took Kanan to the hostel and introduced him to Navinbhai the caretaker as follows "Please meet Dr. Kanan he is a very important person in the company, he will be staying here for a few days". Navinbhai's first response was "My tooth is aching". Navinbhai had to be convinced that Kanan was not a medical doctor.
